Behind The Scene!
Off the scene? No, behind the scene is a better word. Searching for a better way to support my old love, Leap Over Walls Music. I've discovered a new one, or at least uncovered a new one. For the last year I've been writing screenplays. One called, Level The Playing Field describes the unique phases of love a young boy lives through as he becomes a man. Another is call, Unbeknownst. This one has a supernatural flair embracing love, drama and comedy.
Encouraged by the story I wrote called Displaced --turned into a screenplay by Nate Zen Sapien (In his screenplay book called The Zen Cookbook), I began to develop the ideas playing around in my head. My kids think they're pretty good. Here's hoping some producer/director thinks so too.
Nate Zen Sapien, who is an up and coming film maker in his own right, asked me to write some music for his short film, The Parc, which I did. I called it Coco's Song -Prelude, theme and ending called, Dying Bird. It captures the mood of escapism. Though only the prelude is used, the rest includes words both of love and a need to be free. I consider myself to be an inspirational song writer but I can see this song being played by pop and rock groups--Sensitive, yet explosive.
The main focus still is recording and publishing Leap Over Walls Music. I truly believe this music is to be given to the world, and with the right voices and musicians it will be.
